Temple Shalom is an embracing, supportive, vibrant community which is committed to observing Conservative Judaism in a contemporary and progressive tradition and which is devoted to the continuation of Jewish values, education and culture. Temple Shalom honors the diversity of its members and is dedicated to their spiritual, intellectual, and religious growth.

This is our Golden Jubilee year -- our 50th anniversary. Help us make the year a truly celebratory one by participating in the year's events including releigious services and the special events that are planned. Please join us for our services and events that begin the 2010-11 year, 5770-71. We look forward to seeing you all at Temple Shalom, new members and famliar faces alike. For information about tickets for High Holiday services, please call (401) 846-9002. (Members automatically receive their tickets by mail).

Our regular Shabbat services will begin the year at 7:30 pm September 3. We have been enjoying good attendance and pray that that will continue and even increase. Thanks to all who made our summer Shabbat services a great success.

The Temple Annual Picnic will occur on Sunday, September 5. At that time we will also have the installation of the temple officers and board.

High Holiday Services will begin with Selichot on Saturday evening, September 4. There will be a Reception and Program at 9:00 pm and a Worship Service at 10:00 pm.

Erev Rosh Hashanah Service will begin at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, September 8. The first day of Rosh Hashanah services will begin at 9:00 am, Thursday, September 9, and will be followed by Tashlich, the ceremonial casting off of our sins, immediately following services. The seconday of the holiday will begin at 10:00 am, Friday, September 10, with a contemporary service.

The Erev Yom Kippur Kol Nidre service will begin at 6:15 pm, Friday September 17. Yom Kippur moning services will begin at 9:00 am, Saturday, September 18.

COME DECORATE THE SUKKAH!  Persons of all ages are cordially invited to bring vegetables, fruit and other decorations to help beautify our Temple Sukkah on Sunday morning, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. This annual activity is fun for all. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.

Erev Sukkoth services will begin at 7:30 pm, September 22.
